As you may already know, I am a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority. Being home for winter break, I went through the pile of mail my parents had collected for me and found an issue of my sorority’s magazine, The Adelphean. On the back cover I found a section entitled “We Remember” that listed the names of the 3 sisters we lost in the September 11th attacks 10 years ago. Interested in learning a little bit about them, I looked up their stories and thought I would share what I found with you:
Lynn Edwards Angell – Flight 11Lynn volunteered at a home for abused and emotionally disturbed children. She donated money anonymously, knew all 66 kids in the school by name, and even sent each one a postcard from Cape Cod in the summer of 2001. She was the wife of David Angell, a writer and producer for television, known for his work on the series Cheers and creating the sitcom Frasier. They both died aboard American Airlines Flight 11, which was the first plane to hit the World Trade Center, North Tower.
Lauren Catuzzi Grandcolas – Flight 93
Lauren worked in marketing for Good Housekeeping. She was also working on a self-help book for women, which her family published after her death, entitled You Can Do It!: The Merit Badge Handbook for Grown-Up Girls. Proceeds from the book go to charity. On September 11, 2001, Lauren was on her way back home to California from her grandmother’s funeral in New Jersey. She arrived at the airport early and boarded United Airlines Flight 93, which was earlier than her originally scheduled flight. She called her husband from the plane, leaving him a message saying that there was a “problem on the plane.” After its hijacking, some of the passengers regained control of the plane and crashed it into a field in Pennsylvania, killing all 44 people aboard, including the 4 hijackers. She was 38 years old and 3 months pregnant with their first child at the time of her death. Her father Lawrence Catuzzi served as co-chairman of the Flight 93 National Memorial task force from 2002 to 2005.
Catherine P. Salter – World Trade Center employee
Catherine was Vice President of Aon Insurance Company. She worked on Floor 101 of the World Trade Center, South Tower.

Hi I’m Lynn. You might know me from YouTube or Twitter. Maybe we went to middle or high school together, or met randomly in college. Or quite possible you do not know me at all. Not in “real life,” anyway. You are about to get to know me virtually, though. Stay tuned for what’s on my mind.
